Stew Gallery and Studios
Fishergate Norwich 2007 -2015?

N.C.Arts was created to run the Stew Gallery and Artist Studios which was born in 2007.
Co founded by Alec Cumming (then S.U. President at N.U.C.A.) and Kevin Parker (Undergrad 2nd Year Fine Art at N.U.C.A)

The building housed a large 9000sq ft gallery space which saw both in house, curated and publicly rented exhibitions and shows.
It also housed creative studio spaces for over 20 people accessible at any time and a lively workshop space with wood and metalwork facilities open to the wider creative community who needed specialist equipment, advice and larger space to work in.
There was also a lively kitchen space and cooking culture that the original basis of art and communal food was based around (hence the name Stew).

Backing onto the river Wensum the space also encouraged a lively river based culture and several floating vessels were stationed at the studios for people to use in order to see and navigate the city from a different perspective.

The project was housed in an light industrial factory that was once home to Bulsare Handbags and was owned by Leonard Hedges whom we'd like to acknowledge for his altruistic role in enabling a large artistic community to evolve and thrive in the City of Norwich.
